Argo Tea Winter Teas

Due to the events of 2020, I am not living at school this semester. This is my senior year of college, so there are a lot of things I’m really upset that I’m missing. As the holiday season rolls around, there are two things that I especially miss: the Union Square Holiday Market and Argo Tea’s winter and holiday teas.

I always loved stopping into Argo Tea for a drink while I’m studying, but I especially enjoyed their holiday teas. Last winter there were four different blends. Two were made with chai, which I am allergic to, but I tried their other two and am reviewing them here. Luckily, these two have been the seasonal teas for at least a few years now, so I’m sure they are available this year as well.

Winter Spice

Argo Tea’s Winter Spice tea is an herbal blend of orange flower, cassia, cocoa shells, orange peel, and almonds. I don’t taste any orange, which is good for me because I’m not really a fan of orange flavored things. This tea does have a strong cinnamon flavor from the cassia, but it doesn’t taste at all like chai spices. It is not sweet on its own, but tastes perfect with a hint of honey.

White FrosTEA

Argo Tea loves tea puns, especially for their seasonal teas, and this drink is no exception. This latte is their signature drink for the winter season, and probably their most popular tea ever among NYU students. It’s made with white chocolate, mint, white tea, and steamed milk, and can be ordered hot or iced. I found the hot latte to be much more minty than the iced tea, possibly because the ice watered down the flavor. However, both versions of this drink have a nice, creamy white chocolate flavor, and a hint of flavor from the tea itself even comes through. This is definitely my favorite holiday drink from Argo Tea, and the one that I miss the most.

While I may not be able to enjoy Argo Tea’s delicious holiday teas this year, I hope someone reading this lives near an Argo Tea and can try these teas for themselves. Happy Holidays!
